Byron Sánchez MD is professor associate of Cancer Unit in Hospital Centro Médico, Guatemala City. He had experience as Professor of Medicine and Hematology/Oncology at the Mariano Gálvez University Postgraduate Program in the Army Hospital in Guatemala City.
Co-founder and former Vice-President of the Society of Hematology and Oncology in Guatemala. After receiving his medical degree from the Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala, he served as Medical Resident in Roosevelt Hospital in Guatemala, one larger teaching hospital in the country. Graduate from Hematology and Oncology Department at the National Institute of Medical Sciences and Nutrition “Dr. Salvador Zubirán” in México City.
He is certified by the Mexican Hematology Council and member of the Internal Medicine Society of Guatemala, Hematology and Oncology Society of Guatemala and former member of the Hematology European Society.
He participated as speaker in medical meeting in Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panamá, Perú, Dominican Republic, Trinidad and Tobago, Cuba, México and Belize.
Today Dr Sánchez is an opinion leader in the field of Hematology and Oncology in adults patients, especially in private setting:
benign hematology, coagulation disorders, leukemias and lymphoma, multiple myeloma, solid tumors: breast, colon and rectum, lung, prostate, brain, head and neck, ovarian, gastric, soft tissue.
